Marvel Games is the publishing brand for video games established on Marvel properties and is also the video game division of Marvel entertainment. Let’s discuss some of the games based on Marvel comics below:-
Spider-Man
It is a vertical-scrolling action game written by Laura Nikolich for the Atari 2600. It was released in 1982 by Parker Brothers. It was the first video game to feature Spider-Man and also the first Marvel Comics-based video game.
Quest probe The Hulk
It is a graphic adventure video game developed and published by Adventure International in collaboration with Marvel Comics and released in 1984. It is the first entry in Quest probe, an intended series of graphic adventure games that only released three installments before the developer’s bankruptcy
Howard the Duck
It is also known as Howard the Duck: Adventure on Volcano Island. It is an action video game released in 1986 by Activision for platforms ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64, and Apple II.
The Amazing Spider-Man
It is a platform game featuring the Marvel comic book character Spider-Man. This game was developed by Oxford Digital Enterprises and released in 1990 for the platforms 64 and Amiga, and later ported to IBM PC compatibles, Amstrad CPC, and Atari ST.
Blade
It is an action game based on the 1998 film of the same name and a prequel to it. The blade was developed by hammerhead for the PlayStation in 2000, and by HAL Laboratory and Avit Inc. for the Game Boy Color and was published by Activision, and follows the adventure of Blade with help of his mentor and friend Abraham Whistler.
Disney Infinity 2.0
This is also known as Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes. It is an action-adventure sandbox toys-to-life video game developed by Avalanche Software and Heavy Iron Studios and published by Disney Interactive Studios. This game features additional work by Studio Gobo and Ninja Theory. It is the continuation of the 2013 video game Disney Infinity and was announced on April 8, 2014. It was released on September 23, 2014, in North America, September 19, 2014, in the United Kingdom, and September 18, 2014, in Australia and the rest of Europe for platforms iOS, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Wii U, Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360 and Xbox One,1 and for PlayStation Vita on May 9, 2015.
Thor: The Dark World
It is a 2013 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Thor, produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. This game was developed and published by Gameloft for platforms iOS, and Android.
Iron Man
It is an action-adventure video game based on the 2008 movie of the same name as well as the classic iterations of the character. It was developed by Sega Studios San Francisco, Sega, Behavior Interactive, and Hands-On Mobile. Iron man was released on May 2, 2008, to coincide with the release of the movie in cinemas for platforms: PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable, Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 2, and Xbox 360.
Deadpool
It is also an action-adventure video game based on the Marvel Comics antihero of the same name. It was developed by High Moon Studios for platforms Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 in June 2013.
Marvel Pinball
It was released in 2010. The pinball video game is developed by Zen Studios that features Marvel Comics-themed pinball tables. It is available as a standalone game for platforms like PlayStation 3 via the PlayStation Network, and as downloadable content for Pinball FX 2 on the Xbox 360 via Xbox Live Arcade.
Ghost Rider
It is a third-person, Action-adventure game, hack and slash game released for the PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, and Game Boy Advance based on the movie of the same name. It was developed by Climax Group, Climax Studios, and Magic Pockets and was released worldwide in February 2007.
